there will the three different situations :-

1. when both forces act in same direction then the net force will be the sum of both forces .

2. when the two force act with same magntitude but are in opposite direction( balanced force) the the net forces will be 0 as the cancel each other.

3. when two forces act in opposite direction but having different magnitude then the net force will be non zero thus causes acceleration
