The resultant of two force is given by F=  A²+B²+2ABcosθ  where, A & B are two vectors & θ is the angle between them.  

Magnitude or resultant is  

2×20²+2×400 cos 120⁰

=20N

Whereas, the direction of the resultant vector is given by:  

tanϕ =

A+ B cosθ  divided by B sinθ = 20sin120⁰  divided by  20+20cos120⁰ =  3   ⟹ϕ=60⁰
