Two forces have a magnitude in the ratio 3 and 4 and the angle between their directions is 60

degree. If their resultant is 35N, what are their magnitude?​

Let one of the forces be 3k N there fore the other will be 4k N.

Given resultant = 35 N and angle b/w them is 60°.

Therefore,

[(3k)^2 + (4k)^2 + 2(3k)*(4k)*cos60]^(1/2) = 35

=>37k^2 =35

=> k=(35/37)^(1/2)

Therefore magnitude of vectors are 3(35/37)^(1/2) and 4(35/37)^(1/2)
