Two Forces of 5N and 10 N are acting on a body with an inclination of 120° between them , find the magnitude and direction of resultant force wrt the 10N force?

R²=P² + Q² + 2PQcos120° = 25 + 100 + 2*5*10 cos 120°

Let α be the angle made by R with 10 kg weight.

tan α = P sinФ/(P + QcosФ)

tan α = 1/√3 = tan 30°

α = 30°
