Answer ⇒ 200 N in the same direction of p and q.

Explanation ⇒

p = 75 N, q = 125 N.

Angle between the 2 vectors is not given in Question, but it is given both force are applied at same point, thus we can consider that they are in same direction.

Thus, angle = 0.

Hence,

|R|² = |p|² + |q|² + 2|p|q|Cos0

∴ |R|² = 75² + 125² + 2 × 75 × 125

∴ |R|² = 5625 + 15625 + 18750

∴ |R|² = 40000

∴ |R| = 200 N.

Hence, the resultant magnitude is 200 N.

Direction of Resultant,

tan(τ) = pSinθ/(q + pcosθ)

∴ tan(τ) = 0

(τ) = 0

Hence, direction of resultant is same as that of p and q.

Hope it helps.
