a and b can together do the whole work in 24 days.

therefore a and b do 1/24 part of work in one day

in 20days they complete 20/24 part of work i.e. 5/6 part of work.

therefore work remaining is 1-5/6= 1/6part

now b does the remaining 1/6 part of work in 10days(as total time taken was 30 days of which 20 days and b worked together)

So b does 1/6 th part of work in 10 days ; therfore b alone can do the whole work in 60days
