Sum of portion of chocolates ate by both of them = 3/8+ 1/4
= 5/8

Portion of chocolate ate by other friend = 1/4
total chocolate ate =
3/8 + 1/4
lcm of 8 and 4 is 8
3/8 + 2/8 = 5/8
they together ate 5/8 portion of the chocolate
