Answer:

Given :-

  • Two friends invested Rs. 40000 and Rs. 50000 respectively to start a business. They made a contract that they would divided 50% of the profit equally among themselves and the remaining profit in the ratio of their capitals.

Find out :-

  • The share of first friend profit.

Solution :-

Ratio of capital = 40000 : 50000

Ratio of capital = 4 : 5

Let the profit be 'x'

50% of profit = x × 50/100

= x/2

First friend will get = (x/2)/2

First friend will get = x/4 Rs.

Second friend will get = (x/2)/2

Second friend will get = x/4 Rs.

Now,

Ratio of capital = 4 : 5

Profit of first friend = x/2 × 4/4 + 5

Profit of first friend = 4x/18 Rs.

Profit of second friend = x/2 × 5/4 + 5

Profit of second friend = 5x/18 Rs.

A.T.P (total profit of second friend) - (total profit of first friend) = 800

➻ (5x/18 + x/4) - (4x/18 + x/4) = 800

➻ 5x/18 + x/4 - 4x/18 - x/4 = 800

➻ 5x/18 - 4x/18 = 800

➻ 5x - 4x/18 = 800

➻ x/18 = 800

➻ x = 18 × 800

➻ x = 14400 Rs.

Total profit = 14400 Rs.

Profit of first friend = x/2 × 4/9 + x/4

Profit of first friend = 14400 × 4/18 + 14400/4

Profit of first friend = 3200 + 3600

Profit of first friend = 6800 Rs.

The share of first friend profit 6800 Rs.
