Given : Two friends Sahil and Vijay decided to donate money in an orphanage. The difference of three times the money given by Sahil and two times the money given by Vijay was ₹6000.

To find : Represent this situation graphically in two variables

amount donated by sahil if vijay donated ₹ 1500.

Solution:

Let sat Sahil dontaed  =  Rs x

&  Vijay donated  = Rs y

3 times sahil  -  2 times vijay  = 6000

=> 3x  - 2y   =  6000

x , y  ≥  0   as donation can not be -ve

Graph attached

vijay donated ₹ 1500.

=> y = 1500

=> 3x - 2 (1500)  = 6000

=> 3x = 9000

=> x = 3000

Amount donated by sahil = Rs 3000 if vijay donated Rs 1500
