Two friends Seema and Aditya work in the same office at Delhi. In the Christmas
vacations, both decided to go to their hometowns represented by Town A and Town B
respectively in the figure given below. Town A and Town B are connected by trains

on Christmas vacations, Aditya Travels more Distance than Seema . Mid point is (5/2 , 9/2)  & Area = 17 sq units

C =  (-4 , 4)

Seema goes to Town A  (1 , 7)

Distance Seema Travels = √{(1 - (-4))² + (7 - 4)²}

= √(25 + 9)

= √34

Aditya goes to Town B (4 , 2)

Distance Aditya Travels = √{(4 - (-4))² + (2 - 4)²}

= √(64 + 4)

= √68

= √2 * √34

√68 > √34

=> Aditya Travels more Distance

A  (1 , 7)  , B (4 , 2)

D mid point of A & B

= (1 + 4)/2 , (7 + 2)/2

D = 5/2 , 9/2

A  (1 , 7)  , B (4 , 2)  ,C (-4 , 4)

Area of Δ ABC

= (1/2) | 1(2 - 4) + 4 (4 - 7)  -4(7 - 2)|

= (1/2) | -2 -12 - 20|

= (1/2) | -34|

= 34/2

= 17

Area of ΔABC = 17 Sq units.
