Solution :-

Total number of days from wednesday to saturday = 4

So,

Both friends may visit the shop in 4 ways.

So,

→ Total number of outcomes = 4 * 4 = 16 .

Now,

→ . They can reach on consecutive days in the following ways :- {Wednesday - Thursday}, {Thursday - Wednesday}, {Thursday - Friday} , {Friday - Thusday}, {Friday - Saturday} , {Saturday - Friday}.

So,

Total Number of Favorable outcomes = 6.

Therefore,

Required Probability = (Number of Favorable outcomes) / (Total number of outcomes) = 6/16 = 3/8 (Ans.)
