A fuse wire melts due to joule heating when current more than the rated amount flows through it. If you have two wires of same material, the thicker one will need more current to melt. So, a thick fuse wire will be rated with a higher value of current. Hence, the fuse wire rated 15 A will be thicker than the one rated 5 A.

Hope this helps

Answer:

15Ampere fuse wire will be thicker than the 5A fuse wire. This is because the wire which is thicker will need more amount of current to melt whereas the second wire which is of the same lenght as that of the thick wire and is rated 5A will require less amount of current to melt when compared to that of the thicker wire.
