let volume of bulb B is V.

pressure on bulb A is P

volume of bulb A (initial volume of gas) = 100cm³

on opening stop cork, volume of gas = (100 + V) cm³

on opening the stop cork, the pressure of bulb A = P - 60% of P = 0.4 P

as temperature and number mole of gas remains constant during process,

according to Boyle's law,

P_1V_1=P_2V_2

or, P × 100cm³ = 0.4P × (100 + V)cm³

or, 100 = 40 + 0.4V

or, 60 = 0.4V

or, V = 150 cm³

hence, volume of bulb B is 150 cm³

Answer:

150

Explanation:

let volume of bulb B is V.

pressure on bulb A is P

volume of bulb A (initial volume of gas) = 100cm³

on opening stop cork, volume of gas = (100 + V) cm³

on opening the stop cork, the pressure of bulb A = P - 60% of P = 0.4 P

as temperature and number mole of gas remains constant during process,

according to Boyle's law,

P_1V_1=P_2V_2P

1

V

1

=P

2

V

2

or, P × 100cm³ = 0.4P × (100 + V)cm³

or, 100 = 40 + 0.4V

or, 60 = 0.4V

or, V = 150 cm³

hence, volume of bulb B is 150 cm³
