Linkage is stated as the coexistence of two or more genes in the similar chromosome.
If the genes are present on the same chromosome & hence lie closer to each other then they are considered to be inherited together and are known to be linked genes.
For instance, a cross between the white eyes and yellow body and wild type parent in Drosophila will create yellow white and wild type pro genies.
