Given :

Out of 250 students , 20 students study less than 1 hour .

To Find :

Relative frequency of this response.

Solution  :

The relative frequency of an event is defined as the number of times that the event occurs during experimental trials, divided by the total number of trials conducted.

Total no. of students = 250 i.e. total no. of responses are 250.

No. of students who study less than one hour = 20

So, Relative frequency =

 No. of students who study less than one hour /Total no. of students

Relative frequency = 20/250 = 2/25 = 8%

Hence, Relative frequency of response is 2/25 or 8%.

Given :

  • Two hundred fifty students were asked how many hours they spend on studying each night. twenty students responded that they spend less than 1 hour on studying each night.

ㅤㅤ

Find :

  • What is the relative frequency of this response?

ㅤㅤ

Calculations :

★ Frequency = Students who study less than a hour/Number of students.

ㅤㅤ

→ Frequency = 20/250

→ Frequency = 2/25

Frequency = 0.08

ㅤㅤ

  • Converting into percentage:

→ Frequency = 0.08 × 100

Frequency = 8℅

ㅤㅤ

Therefore ,

  • 0.08 or 8% is the relative frequency of this response.
