Two identical cells of emf 1.5 v each, connected in parallel, provide a supply to an external circuit consisting of two resistors of 7 each, joined in parallel. A very high resistance voltmeter reads the terminal voltage of the cells to be 1.4 v. What is the internal resistance of each cell?

Answer:

0.25 ohm of each cell

Explanation:

we know V=E-ir I=E/R I=0.4 amper then

1.4=1.5-0.4r

r=0.25ohm
