Given:

Two identical charges are placed at a seperation of 1 metres.

To find:

Magnitude of charge such that the force experienced is 36 kgwt?

Calculation:

Let's assume that the charges are q1, q2 and separated by distance r. Now, the Coulomb Constant is denoted as "k" and is equal to 9 × 10⁹ unit.

F = {k × q1 × q2}/r²

=> 36g = {9 × 10⁹ (q²)}/(1)²

=> 360 = 9 × 10⁹ × q²

=> q² = 40 × 10^(-9)

=> q² = 400 × 10^(-10)

=> q = 20 × 10^(-5) C

=> q = 200 uC.

So charge required is 200 micro-Coulomb.
