Hence total Surface area of both = 6 + 6 = 12 cm²

Surface area of one face = 6/6 = 1 cm²
On joining two cubes end to end 1 face of each cube will be lost
Hence Surface area = 12 - 1 - 1 = 10 cm²

Total Surface area of a cube = 6(Edge length)²
=> 6(Edge length)² = 6 cm²
=> Edge length = 1 cm
When two cubes joined together

Total Surface area of cuboid = 2 ( lb + bh + lh )
= 2( 2 * 1 + 1 * 1 + 2 * 1)
= 2 ( 2 + 1 + 2)
