Given :  Two identical light bulbs are to be connected to a source with a = 8 V having negligible internal resistance

Each light bulb has a resistance R= 200.

To Find : The current and potential   across each bulb

Solution:

case 1 : Bulb connected in series

Identical bulb hence potential will be divided equally

8/2 = 4V across each bulb

current  =  4 / 200  =   20 mA

case 2 : Bulb connected in parallel

potential will be same for both bulbs

8 V across each bulb

current  through bulb  =  8 / 200  =  40 mA

Total current = 40 + 40 = 80 mA
