Two identical loop P & Q each of radius 5 cm are lying in Perpendicular plane such that they have a common centre. Find the Magnitude & direction of net Magnetic field at the common centre of the two coils , if they carry current equal to 3A & 4A respectively.

The magnetic field due to ring p at centre is

B1 = μ0/4pi 2pi I1 / R1

magnetic field due to ring Q at centre is

B = μ0/4pi * 2piI2/R2

therefore net field is given by

Bnet = (B1^2 + B2^2)1/2

[(μ0/4pi 2pi/2)^2(I1^2+ I2^2)]1/2

μ0/4pi 2pi/r (9+10)1/2

μ0/4pi * 2pi * 5/5*10^-2

4pi*10^-7*5/2*5*10^-2

Bnet = 2pi * 10^-15 wbm^-2

tan fi = B2/B1

μ0/4pi 2piI2/r * 4pi/μ0 r/

2piI1

I2/I1 = 3/4

fi = tan^-1 3/4
