Dear student,

Given :-

  • radius of both sphere = r
  • length between their point masses = 2r
  • mass = variable
  • radius = variable

To find :-

  • the gravitational attraction between the two spheres is proportional to

Solution :-

∵      F = G m₁m₂/ r²

∴      F = G mm/ (2r)²

         F = G m²/ 4r²

         F = G (ρ v)² / 4r²

         F ∝ G (ρ v)² / r²

         F ∝ (ρ v)² / r²

         F ∝ v²/ r²

         F ∝ (4/3 π r³)²/ r²

         F ∝ 4/3 π r⁶ / r²

         F ∝ r⁶ / r²

        F ∝ r⁴
