In case of white colour, it does not absorb any wavelength of light and reflects all of them and so appears white in colour.. As we know, black colour absorbs more light energy than white, the light energy absorbed by the black colour gets converted into heat energy. Hence, the can painted in black colour will be hotter than that of the can painted in white colour.
