Two identical wires one of Nichrome and other copper are connected in series and a current I is passed through them.State the change observed in the temperature of the 2 wires .Justify your answer.state the law which explains the above observation.

temperature of both the wire will definitely rise but there will be a higher rise of temperature observed in nichrome wire as it's resistance is higher than that of copper or more specifically the resistivity and joule's law of heating states that the heat dissipated is directly proportional to the resistance for a given current. and ohms law tells that resistance is directly proportional to resistivity and as already said nichrome has higher resistivity it will dissipate more heat and hence the temperature there will rise much than that in the copper wire.
