Two immiscible transparent liquids A and B have 1.2 and 1.5 as their refractive indices (with respect to air). What is the refractive index of B with respect to A?

Refractive index is equal to the ratio of velocity of light in vacuum and velocity of light in medium.

We need to calculate the refractive index of B with respect to A

Using formula of refractive index

\dfrac{\mu_{B}}{\mu_{A}}=\dfrac{1.5}{1.2}

Where, \mu_{A} = refractive index of A

\mu_{B} = refractive index of B
