Answer:

3600 Litre

Step-by-step explanation:

Two inlet pipes can fill a tank in 36 minutes and 72 minutes respectively. There is an outlet pipe exactly at one third level from the bottom of the tank, which can pump out 50 litres per minutes. If it takea 32 minutes to fill the tank. What is the capacity of the tank?

Pipe 1 can fill  Tank in 36 minutes

so tank filled in 1 minute = 1/36

Pipe 2 can fill Tank in 72 Minutes

So tank filled in 1 Minute = 1/72

Pipe 1 + pipe 2 fill tank in 1 minute = 1/36 + 1/72 =  1/24

Pipe 1 + pipe 2 fill tank in 24 minutes

Total time taken = 32 minutes

so Tank filled in 32 minutes = 32/24 = 4/3

that means Tank emptied by pipe 3 = 4/3 - 1 = 1/3

1/3rd tank is filled in = 24/3 = 8 minutes

time taken after 1/3 fill = 32 -8 = 24 minutes

Pipe 3 will come in picture after 1/3 level of tank is filled so pipe 3 worked for 24 minuted and emptied 1/3 tank

1/3 tank emptied by pipe 3 in 24 minutes

1 tank emptied by pipe in = 72 minutes

Pipe 3 will take 72 minutes to empty the tank

Pipe 3 can pump out 50 litres per  Minutes

so capacity of Tank = 50 * 72 = 3600 Litre
