Answer:

Let x + y = 36000 _________eqn (i)

0.1x + 0.02y = 200_________eqn (ii)

x + y = 36000

0.1x + 0.02y = 200 ×10

x + y = 36000

x + 0.2y = 20000

-. - -

0.8y = 16000

y = 16000 / 0.8

y = 20000

Put y = 20000 in eqn (i)

x + 20000 = 36000

x = 36000 - 20000

x = 16000

Hence,

₹ 20,000 deposited in first investment

₹ 16,000 deposited in second investment.
