Iron and steel industries -

The iron and steel industries is one of the most important industry.it produces steel which is used as a raw material in many industries such as automobiles , shipbuilding etc. earlier steel plants were located near the sources of iron ore and coal. Initially, the iron and steel industry was concentrated in Britain. From Britain these industries spread to other parts of the world such as China, Japan , USA , Russia , India , South Korea , Germany ,Brazil , Italy etc.The first steel plant was set up in Kulti ( West Bengal ) in 1874 and next in Jamshedhpur ( Jharkhand ) in 1907.
