Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

jar X has red and white sweets in the ratio 1:4

=> Red  =  X

   White  = 4X

Total = 5X

jar Y has red and white sweets in the ratio 1:6

=> Red = Y

   White = 6Y

Total = 7Y

Total = 5X + 7Y

Total Red = X + Y

Total White = 4X + 6Y

X + Y : 4X + 6Y = 1 : 6

=> 6X + 6Y  =  4X  + 6Y

=> 2X = 0

=> X = 0

Jar X  has 0 sweets

jat Y minimum can have  1 red  & 6 white  = 7  Sweets
