Two lamps of 100 W and 60 W are joined in parallel with 220 V line. How much current will flow through the circuit ?

both the bulbs are connected in parallel.
therefore potential difference across each of them will be same that is 220v current drawn by the bulbs of rating 100w is given by
i=p/v
=100/220=0.4545...a
similarly, current drawn by the bulbs of rating 60W is given by
i=P/V
=60/220=0.2727...a
therefore the current drawn from the line
=0.4545+0.2727=0.727A
