two lamps one rated 100 watt at 220 volt and other 60 watt and 220 volt are connected in parallel to electric main supply what current is drawn from line if the supply voltage is 220V

it is very simple first solve the 100 watt lamp at 220 volt after making the circuit diagram by applying the formula power is equal to the product of potential difference and current

it means

P = VI

put the value

the answer come is 5/11

now solve another lamp rating similarly

then the answer become 3/11

we have to find total current flow in the circuit

above we find the I first and I second

after adding both l one and l second the total current will come out

so,

5/11 + 3/11 the answer become 8/11 .

Now divide it .
