Two lamps one rated 40 W-200 V and other 60W -200V ,are connected in parallel to the

electric mains supply .If the supply voltage is 200V calculate the current drawn ?​

Answer:- first lamp .

=> P=VI

=> I = P/V

=> I = 40/200

= > I =1/5 A. --------------(1)

second lamp.

=>P=VI

=>I= P/V

=>I =60/200

=>I= 3/10 A. -------------(2)

from (1) and (2) ,we get

CURRENT DRAWN = 1/5+3/10

=2+3/10

= 5/10

= 1/2. => 0.5 A
