two lamps,one rated at 40 W - 220 v and the other at 60W - 220 V are connected parellel to the electric supply at 220 volt . calculate the current drawn from electric source

it will be 220 volt only and both will glow dimly

P1 = 40 W V1 = 220 V
P2 = 60 W V2 = 220 V
So,
R1 = 220 X 220 / 40
R1 = 1210 OHMS

R2 = 220 X 220 / 60
R2 = 806.67 Ohms

If in parallel,
R = 1 / 0.00123
R = 813 ohms

So,
I = 220 / 813
I = 0.27 A
