Two lenses one convex with focal length 0.5m and the other concave with focal length of 1.0m are combined. What will be the overall power of the combined lenses?

1) Convex Lens = f = + 0.5m

P = 1 / 0.5 = 2D

2) Cocave Lens = f = -1 m

P = 1/ -1 = 1

Total Power = P1 + p2 = 2 + 1 = 3D
