Answer:

worth of x = rs 10.8

Step-by-step explanation:

as given, the new liquid will have liquid x and y in the ratio of 3:2

and, let the worth of liquid  (y) = rs p

then according to the question,

worth of x = rs '(2+p)'

now.

the new liquid can be obtained by taking 3 litres of x and 2 litres of y according to the question.       (as the ratio of x and y is 3:2)

worth of 5 litres of new liquid = (worth of 3 litres of x) + (worth of 2 litres of y)

rs 50 = 3*(2+p) + 2*p

rs 50 = 6+5p

5p = rs 44

p = rs 8.8  (which is the cost of the liquid y)

cost of liquid x = (2+p) = rs 10.8

hence, rs 10.8 is the required value of liquid x.
