Heya friend,

The litmus paper is used for the detection between acid and base.

If a blue litmus paper is dipped in an acidic solution, then it turns blue litmus to red, but when a blue litmus paper is dipped in a basic solution the colour remains  blue.

Similarly,

When a red litmus paper is dipped in a basic solution, then it turns red litmus to blue, but when a red litmus paper is dipped in an acidic solution the colour remains red.

Now,

The liquid in test tube A turns blue litmus red, so it is ACIDIC.

and,

The liquid in test tube B does not change the colour of the blue litmus paper, so it is BASIC

THANKS !
