Answer: The magnitude and direction of the magnetic field at a point midway between them when the currents in them flow in opposite directions.Total magnetic field when the current flow in opposite direction

B = B₁ + B₂    = 2 ₓ 10⁻⁵ T

Explanation:

Given : Distance between two parallel straight conductors = 12 cm

current in both the conductors = 3A

To find the magnetic field between the two infinitely long wires separated by a distance,
2d = 12 cm
and 3 A current is flowing in opposite direction as shown in the figure given below;

the magnetic field at point O will be inward direction applied by both the wires in which the current is flowing in opposite direction,

magnetic field due to wire 1 is:
B² = μ₀i (-k)/ 2\pi d

    = 10 ⁻⁷ ₓ 2ₓ 3 / 6 ₓ 10 ⁻²

    = 10 ⁻⁵ T

magnetic field due to wire 2 is:

B² = μ₀i (-k)/ 2\pi d

    = 10 ⁻⁷ ₓ 2ₓ 3 / 6 ₓ 10 ⁻²

    = 10 ⁻⁵ T

Total magnetic field when the current flow in opposite direction

B = B₁ + B₂

   = 10⁻⁵+ 10⁻⁵

  = 2 ₓ 10⁻⁵ T
