Answer:

3:10

Explanation:

K.E = 1/2mv^2

Acc to given information,

1/2m1v1^2 : 1/2m2v2^2 = 9:25

Now m1 is given to be 10gm and m2 = 40gm

1/2 × 10 × v1^2 : 1/2 × 40 × v2^2 = 9:25

v1^2/4 × v2^2 = 9/25

Taking root on both sides,

v1/2v2 = 3/5

Shifting 5 and 2v2 to opposite sides,

5v1 = 6v2

v1 = 6v2/5

Momentum = mv

Ratio of momentum of these two masses will be =

m1v1 : m2v2 = 10 × v1 : 40 × v2 = v1:4v2

Substituting the value of v1 from above in here,

v1:4v2 = 6v2/5:4v2 = 3:10
