Two masses m1 = 12 kg and m2 = 8 kg are connected at the two ends of a light, inextensible string passing

over a light, frictionless pulley. Find the acceleration of the masses and the tension in the string when the

masses are released. Through what distance the 12 kg mass would fall in 0.3 s after the masses are released?

Answer:

In first case Acceleration will be (a=g/5) and tension will be tension will be (T= 48g/5),

whereas in second case distance covered is 44cm
