two masses of M1 and M2 are connected by a string of a string constant k and are placed on a smooth horizontal surface.Initially the spring is stretched through a distance d when the system in released from rest.Find the distance moved by the masses when the string is compressed through distance d.

I think the distance covered by each block would be d/2....
