4x + 14y = 8 ........iii)
Subtracting equations iii) and ii)
4x + 14y = 8
-(4x) -(4y) = -3
= 10y = 5
y=1/2 .......iv)
placing equation iv) in equation ii) we have
x=1/4
Therefore 1 child complete its work in 1/2 day and 1 man complete its work in 1/4 day.
