two men move away from town along two perpendicular paths at 20 km/hand 40 km/h respectively. The second man starts the journey an hour later than the first one. Find the time taken for them to be 100 km apart. ​

s=d÷t

therefore, t=d÷s

t=100÷25

t=4hrs

now,

lets take the second case,

same as the first one but different values

s=40km/h

t=100÷40

t=2.5

he was started 1hr later

so,

2.5-1=1.5

now,

4-1.5=2.5

therefore, the time taken is: 2.5hrs
