Answer:100 sec

Step-by-step explanation:

As they are approaching each other Their relative velocity is 6+4=10=v

And distance between them d=1000 m

T=d/v=1000/10=100

Two men running towards each other at 4m/s and 6m/s respectively are one kilometre apart. It takes 100 seconds before they meet

Solution:

Two men are running towards each other with speed 4 m/s and 6 m/s

And they also apart from each other by a 1 km which is equal to 1000 meter

So we know that if two objects are coming towards each other with speed x and y then

There is a relative velocity = x + y

So by using the concept of relative velocity  we will get relatively velocity of two men = 6 + 4 = 10 m/s

Now speed = 10 m/s

Distance = 1000 m

The relation between speed and distance and time is given as:

speed = \frac{distance}{time}

So time = \frac{distance}{speed}

time = =\frac{1000}{10}

Time = 100 seconds

Hence it takes 100 seconds before they meet
