Hours later distance cover by one men at the speed of 4km/hr
4×6=24
remaining distance
42-24=18
time taken by second men to cover 18 km is 6hrs
so speed of second men is
18/6= 3km/hr
hope you understand

Answer:

3 km /hr

Step-by-step explanation:

Distance between A and B is 42 km

One walks from A to B at 4 km/hr

Another walks from B to A at a certain uniform speed .

They meet each other after 6 hours .

Distance traveled by first in 6 hours = Speed \times Time = 4 \times 6=24km

So, The distance traveled by first from Point A is 24 km

So, remaining distance = 42-24=18 km

So, A person who starts from point B has traveled 18 km till the point where they meet.

So, Distance traveled by second one in 6 hours = 18 km

So, Speed of second one = \frac{distance}{time}

                                           = \frac{18}{6}

                                           = 3

Hence the speed of the second man is 3 km /hr
