Given data : Two men start moving from two different towns 20 km apart and walk towards each other. They meet in 120 min. One man walked at 6 km/hr.
To find : How fast does the other man walk ?
Solution : Let, speed of second many be x, now we take combined speed of both men i.e. (6 + x) km/hr
⟹ Total distance = 20 km
⟹ Total time taken by both person = 120 min = 2 hour
Now,
⟹ speed of both men = total distance/total time
⟹ 6 + x = 20/2
⟹ 6 + x = 10
⟹ x = 10 - 6
⟹ x = 4 km/hr
Answer : Hence the speed of other ( second ) men is 4 km/hr.
