Given:

total income of A and B = 8379

increment in A's income= 7%

increment in B's income = 7.5%

To find:

the individual incomes of A and B

Solution:

Since if A's income is incremented by 7% then it will be equal to B's income decremented by 7.5%, so the equation will be:

A+ 7% of A = B- 7.5% of B

A+ 7/100A = B- 7.5/100B

107A= 92.5B

Therefore, the value if A in terms of B will be:

A = 92.5/107 B

it was given that the total income of A and N is 8379

therefore, A+B=8379

Putting the value of A in terms of B, we get:

92.5/107B + B= 8397

0.864B + B = 8397

1.864B = 8397

B = 4505

Since,

A= 92.5/107 B

A= 3892

Therefore income of A is Rs. 3892

Income of B is Rs. 4505
