To find : The electric field between the two plates.

solution : let A and B are two plates seperated by 2cm. The potential of plate A = -10 V and potential of plate B = + 30V

potential difference of Plates, ∆V = V_B-V_A

= +30V - (-10V)

= 40V

seperation between plates, d = 2cm = 0.02m

so electric field, E = ∆V/d

= 40/0.02

= 2000 N/C

Therefore the electric field between plates is 2000 N/C.
