Two metallic spheres of radii R₁ and R₂ are charged. Now they are brought into contact with each other with a conducting wire and then are separated. If the electric fields on their surfaces are E₁ and E₂ respectively, E₁ / E₂ = _____.(A) R₂ / R₁
(B) R₁ / R₂
(C) R₂² / R₁²

Give Q1 and Q2 a chance to be the underlying charges on the circles.

Since charge thickness is same Q1/4\piR2 = Q2/4\pi(2R)2

So, Q1/Q2 = 1:4

Or we can state the aggregate charge of the framework is 5Q1. X1/X2 = 1:2

Or we can state the aggregate charge of the framework is 3X1.

From preservation of charge of framework 5Q1 = 3X1 Initial charge thickness Q1/4\piR2 =\sigma

Hence last charge thickness X1/4\piR2 = 5\sigma/3.
