Two methods of asexual reproduction.
Answers
» Given Question:
Two methods of asexual reproduction .
» Required Answer:
❒ Budding :
It is the type of asexual reproduction in which a small part of the body of the parent organism detaches and matures and becomes a new organism.
Example : Hydra which is simple multicellular animal reproduces by budding. Yeast also reproduces by budding.
❒ Regeneration :
This is also one of the type of asexual reproduction. In regeneration, the organisms have the ability to grow from their fragments .
Example : Planaria, Starfish reproduces by regeneration. If the part of their body is cut , they can regain and grow into a new individual.

What is reproduction?

Types of reproduction:
- Asexual reproduction - The production of new organisms, only from a single parent is called asexual reproduction.
Methods of asexual reproduction-
- Binary Fission
- Multiple Fission
- Budding
- Fragmentation
- Regeneration
- Vegetative propagation
Binary Fission - Parent cell splits into two identical cells.
Multiple Fission - Parent cell splits into many identical cells.
Budding - Small outgrowth from body detaches and matures and becomes new organism.
Fragmentation - Breaking down of body into two or more parts and then matures as new organism.
Regeneration - Growing from their fragments.
Vegetative propagation - New plants are obtained from parts of old plants without the help of any reproductive organ.
- Sexual reproduction - The production of new organisms by the fusion of male and female sex cells is called sexual reproduction.
