⭐ Two methods of estimating poverty are :-

1. \textbf {\pink {\underline {Expenditure\:Method}}}

In this method, the minimum nutritional food requirements are estimated. It is the first major in terms of calories and then it is converted into Rupees.

Calories needed by the different human depends upon gender, age and most importantly, type of work a person performs. If we talk about India, the daily minimum nutritional requirements for a person is fixed, i.e 2400 calories in rural areas and 2100 in urban areas.

2. \textbf {\pink {\underline {Income\:Method:}}}

Under this method, Poverty line is estimated by the level of income. Income is fixed. As In the year 2000, poverty line was estimated if a person earns below Rs 454 per month.

National Rural Employment guarantee Act was passed in the year 2005.

National Food for work program was passed in the year 2004.

PM Rozgar yojna was passed in the year 1993.

⭐ Pradhan Mantri Gramodaya yojna was passed in the year 2000.
