x-y=2........(1)

xy=48.......(2)

(2+y)y=48 [ from(1) x=2+y ]

2y+y²=48

y²+2y-48=0

y²+8y-6y-48=0

y(y+8)-6(y+8)=0

(y-6)(y+8)=0

y-6=0 and y+8=0

y=6 and y= -8

but (-8) is not a natural no.

so y=6

x-6=2 (put the value of y in eq 1)

x=2+6

x=8

so two natural nos are 6 and 8.

Verification-

8-6=2

8×6=48
